Ukrainian athlete, tenor singer, brother of Roman Shukhevych. He worked as a geodesic engineer.
Biography.
He graduated from the Academic Gymnasium in Lviv. He was a member of Plast (1st Sahaidachnyi kuren, 10th kuren of the USP "Chornomoretsi").
After graduating from the Music Institute, he sang at the opera with his brother Roman.
In 1928, the student quartet "Yevhen's Revellers" ("Lviv Revellers") was organized in Lviv under the direction of Yevhen Kozak. Roman Shukhevych played the piano in this quartet, and one of the soloists was his brother Yuri Shukhevych.

He was murdered in June 1941 by the NKVD in a Lviv prison on Lontskoho Street (now Karla Bryulova Street). Roman Shukhevych found his brother's body among the mutilated corpses and buried it on the 64th field of the Lychakiv Cemetery.
Commemorating the memory
In Ivano-Frankivsk, there is a Shukhevych street named in honor of not only Yuriy, but his entire heroic family.
