Shuh Mikhail Arkadiyovych

1952-2018

Ukrainian composer, teacher, conductor.

Biography.

In 1977 he graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevsky (studied in the composition class of D. L. Klebanov, after whose death he completed his studies in the class of V. M. Zolotukhin).

In 1977-2001 he was a teacher at the Donetsk Music College.

Since 1980 - a member of the Union of Composers of the USSR, now a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.

Since 1999 - member of the All-Ukrainian Guild of Film Directors "24/1".

In 2002-2007 - Director and Artistic Director of the All-Ukrainian Choral Festival "Singing Cathedral".

Since 2002 - Associate Professor of the Department of Music Theory and History at the Drahomanov National Pedagogical University.

Since 2003 - member of the International Federation of Choral Music (IFCM).
Awards and titles

S. Prokofiev Prize (1991).
Diploma for the best song of the Chervona Ruta Festival (1994).
Diploma winner of the IBLA Grand Prix (Italy, "Most distinguished and talented artist, composer") (2000).
Honored Artist of Ukraine (2001).
Honorary badge "Excellence in Education of Ukraine".
Mykola Lysenko State Prize of Ukraine (2003).

Family.

Brother: Anatolii Shukh - composer.
Wife: Natalia Chamorova - musicologist, teacher.
Daughter: Maryna Shukh - film distributor, together with her husband Dines Ivanov she was a co-founder of the Arthouse Traffic film company.
