Semen Naumovich Steinberg (1887, Odesa, Russian Empire - 1955, Chernivtsi, Ukrainian SSR [USSR]) was a Russian and Soviet Ukrainian composer, and in 1925-1949 he was the musical director of the Ukrainian State Jewish Theatre.
Biography.
In 1904, he graduated from Karl Lagler's music courses in violin class of M. Hait, and until 1916 he worked in theatre orchestras. In 1919, he graduated from the Odesa Conservatory with a degree in composition. He was a student of Witold Maliszewski.
