He was born in Kharkiv.
Education
In 1981, he graduated from the Poltava State Music School named after MV Lysenko as a choir master and music theorist.
In 1988, he graduated from the Kyiv State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, majoring in "opera-symphonic conducting" (prof. Stefan Turchak) and "choral conducting" (prof. Lev Venediktov).
In 1989-1991, he interned at the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater (Moscow), director Fuat Mansurov.
Creative activity
Since 1988, he has been the conductor-producer of the Kyiv Academic Operetta Theater.
In October 1990, he created the country's first non-state symphony orchestra "Ukraine", with which from 1991 to 2002 he conducted extensive concert and touring activities (Ukraine, Russia, Italy, France, Portugal, Poland, Croatia, Switzerland), made numerous recordings on Ukrainian radio and television, released a number of CDs (Russia, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland), organized the international art festivals "Meetings on Easter" (Kyiv, Ukraine - 2000, 2001, 2002) and "Tenoratorio" (Zolothurn, Switzerland — 1999, 2000, 2001), was one of the organizers and director of the opening of VERDIANO-2001 (Busseto, Italy — 2001).
1995-2005 chief conductor of the Kyiv Academic Operetta Theater, where he staged 15 plays, including: "Porgy and Bess" by J. Gershwin, "The Gypsy Baron" and "Night in Venice" by J. Strauss, "Maritza" by I. Kalman, " Count of Luxemburg" by F. Legar and many others.
Since 1996, he has been teaching at the Department of Opera Training and Music Direction and the Department of Opera and Symphonic Conducting of the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.
In August 2005, he led the Honored Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Ukrainian Radio. He carried out a number of large-scale creative projects, including "David's Repentance" by V. A. Mozart, "Symphonic Gospel" by A. Karamanov, "The Execution of Stepan Razin" by D. Shostakovich, "Requiem" by J. Verdi, "Stabat Mater" by J. Rossini, "Carmina Burana" by K. Orff (own stage version), "Fantasies in Jazz Tones" by O. Saratskyi, created a series of original cyclical TV-radio projects "Art Stories", "I-VIRTUOS!", "Symphonic Mainstream", "RadioSymphony_UA , "Concerts without an audience", "Masterpieces", "Benefit".
Participates in the annual international festivals "Kyiv-Music-Fest" and "Music premieres of the season" (Kyiv, Ukraine).
Under the direction of Volodymyr Sheik, the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra recorded more than 400 masterpieces of world and Ukrainian music for the National Radio Fund. The main recordings are made at the Ukrainian Radio Recording House. The works of the luminaries of the national musical art and the young generation of composers, recorded by the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Volodymyr Sheik, are regularly broadcast on national channels and on the European Broadcasting Union channels in 56 countries.
Over the past six years, he has toured with the orchestra in 17 countries around the world, in particular, in the People's Republic of China, South Korea, Iran, Algeria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Holland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Belarus.
