Ukrainian poet and composer.
Biography.

Oleksandr Shevchenko was born on January 14, 1963 in the city of Hadiach, Poltava region.

He graduated from high school and music school with a degree in accordion in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

In 1980-1985, he studied at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute, majoring in mechanical engineering. He has been writing songs since 1979. As an author and performer, he took part in the festivals "Dzvin" (Kyiv), "Chervona Ruta-91" (Zaporizhzhia), "World Festival of Youth and Students" (1985, Moscow). He has written about 140 works. Until 2005, 91 works were registered in the State Enterprise UAASP. Since 2005 he has been working at the UMZ.

Performers who have Shevchenko's songs in their repertoire: Pikkardiyska Tertsiya, Natalia Samsonova, Volodymyr Pytel, Andriy Zalisko, Liudmyla Kroliuk, Tetiana Ivaniv, Zoryana Tsyhanko, Dasha Hryshyna, Boryslava Bilotserkivska, Yaryna Prokopchuk, Petrovych, Viacheslav Sinchuk, and the Black Jack band.
