Shemet Yaroslav Yurievich

Yaroslav Shemet (born 26 January 1996 in Kharkiv) is a Ukrainian conductor and teacher. He is a lecturer at the Ignacy Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, chief conductor of the Coloratura Opera Lab and Coloratura Opera Fest, and founder of the Musique Moderne and Polish Symphony Orchestra.

Biography.
He began his artistic education at the age of three. He studied at the Children's Music School in Merefa and the Kharkiv Secondary Specialised Music Boarding School (HSSMS-I), the Ignacy Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts (Austria).

He founded his first symphony orchestra at the age of 13 with students and graduates of the HSSMS-I. At the same time, he made his debut as a symphony conductor and toured Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and China, including with the Hamburg Neue Philharmonie, Prague Symphony, Philharmonie der Nationen, INSO-Lviv, Filharmonia Poznańska, Filharmonia Sudecka, Filharmonia Opolska, and others.

He has performed at festivals in Bayreuth, Hong Kong, and Munich. He has collaborated with such soloists as Francesca Dego (Deutsche Gramophone soloist, Italy) and Lars Danielsson (Sweden).

As a conductor and musical director, Yaroslav made his debut in 2018 at the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk with Georges Bizet's Les Misérables.

As a guest conductor, he collaborates with the Odesa and Lviv Opera Houses.

Yaroslav also specialises in performing contemporary music and has more than 40 premieres.

In 2018-2019, he was a conductor and assistant to Oksana Lyniv, artistic director of the YSoU (Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine).
