Mykola Volodymyrovych Sheliushko (in some sources Sheliuzhko) (b. 18 October 1912, Kamianske - d. 6 February 1983, Lviv) was a Ukrainian Soviet singer (tenor) and teacher, Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR since 1967.
Biography.
He was born on 5 (18) October 1912 in the city of Kamianske (now Dnipro region, Ukraine). Participated in the Second World War. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star (31 May 1945) and the Medal for Military Merit (23 April 1944). He has been a member of the CPSU since 1947.
In 1945-1950, he studied at the Lviv Conservatory, after graduating from which he taught there (among his students were B. Bazylykut, V. Ihnatenko). From 1948 to 1976 he was a soloist of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theatre.
From March 1964, he was the director of the Lviv Opera.
He died in Lviv on 6 February 1983.
