Shalyga Bogdan

1997

He was born in 1997 in Kyiv. He was fascinated by music from an early age and at the age of 4 entered the Mykhailo Verikivskyi Children's Music School No. 2. At the age of 9, he entered the Mykola Lysenko Specialised Music School in Kyiv, in the class of Olga Korinets, and later studied with Professor Yaroslava Rivnyak.

In 2014, he entered the Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, continuing his studies with Professor Yaroslava Rivniak. He received his bachelor's degree in 2018.

During his studies, he repeatedly took part in national and international competitions. Among them, in particular, the International Eugen Coca Competition - II prize (Chisinau, Moldova, 2007); II International Yevhen Stankovych Competition - I prize (Kyiv, Ukraine, 2013); III International Danube Instrumental Competition - II prize (Ulm, Germany, 2016); All-Ukrainian Bohodar Kotorovych Competition - I prize (Kyiv, Ukraine, 2018); International Rodolfo Lipizer Prize (Gorizia, Italy, 2019).

He has repeatedly participated in masterclasses of Professor Boris Garlitsky in Berlin. In 2019, he took an active part in the international project LEAD - The Orchestra project under the direction of conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste.

Currently, he is a student at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen (Germany) in the class of Professor Boris Garlytskyi. Since 2019, he has been receiving grant support from the VERE MUSIC FUND.
