Shadrin Oleksiy

1993

Oleksii Shadrin was born in 1993 in Kharkiv to a family of musicians.

At the age of seven, he entered the Kharkiv Specialised Music School, class of Professor Olena Shchelkantseva. In 2010, he entered the Hannover University of Music and Theatre, class of Professor Leonid Gorokhov. Since 2016, he has been a student at the Kronenberg Academy, class of Professor Frans Helmerson. In 2016 and 2018, Oleksiy Shadrin actively participated in the Academy's cello masterclasses, where in 2016 he received the Boris Pergamenshchikov Scholarship. In 2020, he entered the class of Gary Hoffman at Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.

Oleksiy Shadrin was a finalist at the Third International David Popper Competition in Hungary. In 2012, he won first prize at the Mykola Lysenko International Music Competition in Kyiv. In 2018, he won the third prize at the Prague Spring Competition.

He has performed as a soloist and in ensembles in Ukraine and abroad.

The musician plays a modern instrument by the German master Haiko Seifert (Plauen).
