Savitska Oksana

Solo instrumentalist, mezzo-soprano.
She was born in Lviv. Her first serious step towards a career as a professional artist was studying at the Lviv Music College named after S. Lyudkevych at the folk department (bandura class). After the third year of study, she entered the Mykola Lysenko Lviv Conservatory, where she was one of the best students of Professor V. Gerasymenko. She was awarded a scholarship by the President of Ukraine for her excellent studies and concert performance. In 1995, she was awarded the title of Laureate of the International Competition of Performers on Folk Instruments (Ukraine).

In 1998, she became a solo instrumentalist at the Lviv Regional Philharmonic, where she created programmes of various genres. The artist's repertoire is diverse: pieces accompanied by a quartet, an orchestra of folk instruments, bandura and Pan flute. Oksana performs classical pieces in Italian, French, German, Spanish and is most in love with Ukrainian folk songs, dumas, old and modern romances.

In 2007, she won the First All-Ukrainian Competition of Traditions of the Kholmshchyna and Podlasie (Ukraine). She is a member of the National Union of Kobzars of Ukraine. In 2010, the artist was awarded in the international programme "Art Olympus" (Kyiv). In 2019, Oksana Savitska was awarded the medal "For the Revival of Ukraine" by the military chaplains unit (Kyiv).

The artist represents Ukraine and her native culture in Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, and Yugoslavia.

She has participated in prestigious international festivals, including the II Bandura Music Festival (Peremyshl, Poland, 1996), the I International Folk Music Festival (San Remo, Italy, 1998), West-East (Zielona Góra, Poland, 2000), Virtuosos (Lviv, Ukraine, 2006), B. Veselovsky Retro Song Festival (Lviv, Ukraine, 2006), Y. Singalevich Kobza Art Festival (Lviv, Ukraine, 2006), and the International Festival of Kobza Art (Lviv, Ukraine, 2006).
