Saranchin Oleksii Tarasovych

Oleksii Tarasovych Saranchyn (Oleksii "Lopa Tarasych" Saranchyn; born 13 February 1972, Kharkiv) is a Ukrainian jazz pianist, composer, arranger and teacher, known for his performances in the East Side jazz band and the band Tanka na Maidan Congo (piano, percussion).

Biography
Born on 13 February 1972 in Kharkiv. He studied at the Children's Music School No. 9 in Kharkiv.

In 1988, he entered the Borys Liatoshynskyi Kharkiv Music College.

He has two higher education degrees: as a lawyer (graduated from the Kharkiv National Law Academy) and as a musician (graduated from the Kharkiv Conservatory with a degree in piano).

Since 1996, he has been playing in the jazz band Vostok-Side.

2005-2011 - a member of the band "Dance on Congo Square", where he was known as Oleksiy "Lopa" Saranchin.

Permanent member of "Kyiv Big Band", "Denis Adu Big Band".

Works as a senior lecturer in the class of special piano at the Reinhold Glier Kyiv Academy of Music.

In 2009, he took part in the project "At Night" by Svyatoslav Vakarchuk. He was also a member of Denis Dudko's Dudko Jazz Quintet, Denis Adu's first Kyiv jazz band Kiev Big Band, and performs as a quartet under his own name (Oleksiy Saranchin - piano, Viktor Pavelko - saxophone, Oleksandr Yemets - double bass, Roman Yakovchuk - drums).

Participant of Alexei Kogan's author's project "Theme with Variations. Live", "Theme with Variations. Talking Jazz".

Author of the soundtrack to the short film by I. Noyabr'ev "Ultramarine Bird" (2014).

Composer and co-author of the public project with Anna Bondarenko "Blue Horse" about the history of jazz music in Ukraine.
