Liudmyla Yevhenivna Samodaeva (* 1951) is a Ukrainian composer and pianist.
Biography.
She was born in 1951 in the city of Ussuriysk (Russia). In 1970, she graduated from the Volgograd School of Arts, piano class of G. Gilova (diploma with honours). She continued her musical education at the A. Nezhdanova Odesa State Conservatory as a pianist under the guidance of Professor L. Ginzburg; and as a composer in the class of Professor O. Krasotov (1971-1976 and 1982-1985; both with honours).
In 1972-1975, she worked as a concertmaster at the Opera Studio of the Odesa State Conservatory, and in 1976-1977 as a soloist of the Volgograd Regional Philharmonic. In 1978-1985, she was a concertmaster at the Odesa Opera and Ballet Theatre; in 1982-1985, she taught composition at the Odesa School of Arts No. 1, and in 1986-1994, at the Odesa Music School No. 1.
In 1990-1995, she was a lecturer at the Odesa State Conservatory (assistant to Professor L. Ginzburg). Since 1995, she has been working as a creative artist; from 1996 to 2001, she was a pianist of the Frescoes Contemporary Music Ensemble.
Among her works: chamber operas, orchestral, instrumental, vocal and theatre music. His works were presented at the Kyiv Music Fest (1995, 1997), Two Days and Two Nights of New Music (1996-2002), Musica Humana, From Baroque to Avant-Garde (Zaporizhzhia, 2000, 2001) and at numerous international festivals in Belgium, Mexico, Germany, Russia, Finland, and France.
She is a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine and the National Union of Theatre Workers.
Laureate of the Leo Vitoshynskyi All-Ukrainian Music and Theatre Award (1998) and the M. Verikivskyi Award (2003).
