Rutter Valery Dmytrovych

1924-2010

Soviet and Kazakh musician, conductor, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR, Honored Artist of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, professor.

Family.

Father - Dmytro Rutter, accountant; mother - Bohdana Levina; sister - Olena Rutter, violinist.

In 1973-1997, Valeriy Rutter worked as the chief conductor at the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of the Kazakh SSR and lived in Almaty.

In 1997, he emigrated and lived in Germany until the end of his life with his wife Lyudmila Rutter and children Dmitry and Alla.
Education.

1933 - Music School at the Kharkiv Conservatory, violin class (prof. Dobrzhynets I. V.)
1941 - Kharkiv Conservatory, evacuation
1943-1948 - Naval Faculty of the Leningrad Conservatory. Diploma with honors, officer's rank. Military conductor.
1948-1953 - Artistic Director of the Northern Fleet Ensemble.
1954-1959 - Leningrad Conservatory. Faculty of Theory and Composition (class of Prof. O. Dolzhansky). Musicologist. Conducting and Symphony Faculty (class of Prof. Yeltsin). Conductor of the symphony orchestra and opera.
