Rudnytskyi Oleh Mykhailovych (17 July 1979, Novyi Rozdil - 26 April 2015) was a Ukrainian pianist, associate professor, PhD in Art History. He began his concert career at the age of 12. The pianist's repertoire list included 430 works by composers of different eras and musical styles, and he played 370 concerts.
Biography.
From 1986 to 1992, he studied at the Novorozdil Children's School of Arts, in the class of M. Danyliak.
In 1992-1994, he studied at the Lviv Secondary Music Boarding School named after S. Krushelnytska (now the Lviv State Music Lyceum), where he graduated as an external student.
In 1994 (at the age of 15) Rudnytskyi was invited and enrolled in the first year of the piano faculty of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv Higher Music Institute (now the Lviv National Music Academy) in the class of Professor M. Krykh-Uhlyar.
The pianist improved his skills under the guidance of such famous pianists as: E. Picht-Axenfald (Frankfurt, Germany), V. Hornostaeva, K. Knorre, L. Naumov, Y. Lisechenko (Moscow, Russia).
In 2000-2003, he studied at the postgraduate training course of LNMA, in the class of Professor Y.F. Yermin. Subsequently, he defended his PhD thesis and received the degree of Candidate of Arts (now - Doctor of Philosophy).
In 2007-2015, he was a senior lecturer, associate professor of the Department of Special Piano at the Lysenko National Music Academy.
Since 2008, Rudnytskyi has been touring extensively, collaborating with Daniel Barenboim (pianist, conductor, Argentina), Radion Shchedrin (composer, Russia-Germany), Dorma Panulo (conductor, Finland), Wilfried Hiller (composer, Germany), and Margarita Fedorova (pianist, Russia).
He has toured France, Germany, Italy, England, Spain, Austria, Finland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Belarus, Romania, Bulgaria, Japan, Argentina and Russia.
He has represented Ukraine at international festivals in Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Vilnius, Sofia, Bratislava, Toronto, Sendai, Bamberg, Minsk, Alma-Ata, and Moscow.
He has been a member of the jury at international piano competitions: Barcelona, April 2009, Huesca, March 2012 (Spain), Munich, March 2014 (Germany). He was also a jury member at regional competitions for young pianists.
As a solo pianist, he has played with many Ukrainian and international conductors. Among them: Y. Skibinsky, R. Dorozhivsky, R. Filipchuk, A. Toribaev, A. Pevtsov, V. Belavsky, A. Vlasenko, M. Barenboim (Argentina), N. Ventrella, I. Conti (Italy), A. Mirabel (France), M. Elsner, G. Meis (Germany), D. Panulo (Finland), T. Tereoko (Japan), M. Munoz Varo (Spain), Hobert Earle (USA, Ukraine), D. Kim (Austria), S. Hari (Sweden), G. Jaskulski (Poland), P. Hamer, G. Patos (Hungary), M. Hwantom (Korea).
On 25 March 2015, Oleh Rudnytskyi gave his last solo concert at the Kherson Regional Philharmonic. A month later, on 26 April, he passed away
