Vsevolod Rozhdestvensky (* 2 July 1918 - 3 March 1985, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian composer. Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1970). He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honour.
He was born in Poltava, where he studied at school No. 10. Then he studied at the Kharkiv (in the class of S. Bohatyriov) and Kyiv (in the class of L. Revutskyi, graduated in 1941) Conservatories.
In 1945-1985, he was the chief conductor and head of the musical department of the Ivan Franko Kyiv Drama Theatre, composing music for a number of its performances. His main works are musical comedies ("Song of Sincere Love", "By the Sun", "For Two Hares" based on the comedy by M. Starytskyi (1954), "Shoes" based on N. Gogol, "Larks" (1977), etc.) In addition, he wrote a concerto for violin and orchestra, two string quartets (the second in 1965 in memory of Taras Shevchenko), solo chants, choral works, songs, including "Song about Khrushchev" (lyrics by H. Plotkin) and "The Dnipro Wave" (lyrics by B. Paliychuk).
