Reznitsky Mark Yosypovych

Mark Yosypovych Reznycky (born August 10, 1940, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian jazz musician, conductor and composer. People's Artist of Ukraine (2001). Chief conductor of the National Circus of Ukraine Orchestra since 1988.

Biography.
He was born on August 10, 1940 in Kyiv into a theater family. Mark's father was the chief administrator of the Kyiv Operetta Theater, founded in 1934.

In 1957 he graduated from a music school in Kyiv, and later worked at the Kemerovo Regional Philharmonic.

In 1960, he got a job in the Dnipro Jazz Orchestra in Kyiv.

Later, at the invitation of his friend, arranger Givi Gachechiladze, he got a job in Tbilisi.

Since 1968, he has been conducting the variety orchestra of the Georgian Radio and Television Committee. He also worked in Irkutsk and on Tbilisi radio and television.

Later, after returning to his native Kyiv, he began working in a jazz club, and later in the ensemble of the Kyiv Ice Ballet.

Since 1971, he has been a conductor, and since 1988 - the chief conductor of the National Circus of Ukraine.

In 1974 he graduated from the Tbilisi Conservatory (saxophone class).

In 1997, the orchestra of the National Circus of Ukraine under the direction of Mark Yosypovych at the XII International Festival of Circus Arts in Rome received a special prize as the best team in the history of the festival.

He is the founder of the Reznitsky Big Band jazz orchestra.
