Repka Roman

1974

Pianist, laureate of national and international competitions, teacher of the Kyiv Children's Music School No. 5 named after L. Revutsky.

Graduated from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy (1998), class of Professor V. Kozlov.

He combines performing and teaching activities with educational activities.

Over the years, he has taught at the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialised Music School, the Glinka Dnipro Music Academy, and the Hannan Pedagogical University (China).

He has given lecture series "Music as a Language", "The Invisible History of Piano Music", and the art project "The Discovery of Carl Czerny".

Over the years, he has collaborated with the chamber ensembles "Kyiv", "Ricochet", "Luna Ensemble", etc., as well as with the New Era Orchestra as a soloist and repertoire director.

Recently, the basis of the pianist's repertoire has been formed by rarely performed or forgotten masterpieces of Ukrainian and European music. He has given Ukrainian premieres of works by C. Czerny, S. Heller, J. Rodrigo, M. Naiman, and others.

In 2011, he brought back to the Ukrainian stage a masterpiece of Ukrainian music - Levko Revutsky's Piano Concerto in the first author's version, a score that had been considered lost for many decades.

His discography includes piano works by Myroslav Skoryk (2002), vocal and chamber music works by Valentyn Silvestrov (2012 and 2013), Pierrot du monde by A. Schoenberg (2003), etc.
