Oleksandr Markovych Radchenko (August 20, 1894, Lokhvytsia, now Poltava region - January 20, 1975, Lviv) was a Ukrainian composer and conductor. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1947).
Biography.
In 1911, he graduated from the Odesa Music College. He studied at the Odesa Conservatory.
From 1919 he was a bandmaster in the Red Army, from 1923 he was a conductor of amateur groups in Odesa.
From 1930, he was the head of the musical department at the Mariia Zankovetska Theater in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv (1944-1964). Teacher and conductor of music schools in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro.
Works.
Works for symphony orchestra: "Tragic Poem", "Fantasy Overture on Ukrainian Folk Themes", numerous works for brass band, arrangements of folk songs, music for dramatic performances (about 500).
