Pylypchak Maria Ivanovna

Pylypchak Maria Ivanovna is a composer, ethnographer, and director of the children's folklore ensemble Tsviten, founded in 1986 at the Hryhorii Veriovka National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir of Ukraine.

Pylypchak Maria Ivanovna was born on May 12, 1955 in Khust, Zakarpattia region. In 1980, she graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory. In the same year, she began working as a teacher at the Institute of Culture in Kyiv. Since 1982, she has been a choirmaster of the H. Veriovka National Folk Choir. Since 2008, she has been a senior researcher at the Rylsky Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Member of the National All-Ukrainian Music Union and the Union of Composers of Ukraine.

She is the author of the books Carols and Christmas Carols, Vesnianky, Children's Play Folklore, Singing Blossoms, Lullabies, two-volume collection Songs of a Ukrainian Wedding, Generous Evening, articles, and ethnographic films. Maria Pylypchak has released 6 audio CDs: "Tsviten Sings"-1, -2, "Vesnyanky" - expedition recordings, carols and shchedrivkas, lullabies, and "Hrailik". With the ensemble "Tsviten" he tours both at home and abroad (France, Germany, Poland and other countries)
