Prysiazhnyuk Mykola Vasyliovych

1961-2016

Ukrainian composer, singer, director, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, winner of national and international competitions. He was the head of the Donetsk organization of the All-Ukrainian Society "Prosvita" and director of the Center for Slavic Culture.
Biography.

Mykola Prysiazhniuk was born on October 25, 1961, in the village of Slobidka, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

In 1986, he graduated from the Kharkiv State Institute of Culture with a degree in cultural and educational work and choir master. In the same year, after moving to Donetsk, he headed the Pushkin Palace of Culture. In 1988, he founded and headed the first Children's School of Arts in Donetsk, which operated at the secondary school No. 119.

In 1999, he graduated from Donetsk National University with a degree in Ukrainian language and literature.

In 2000, he headed the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists (now the Center of Slavic Culture) in Donetsk.

In 2009, by a decree of the President of Ukraine, he was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture.

On April 1, 2016, he was tragically killed by unknown assailants in his own home.
