Pruslin Naum Isakovich

1877-1943

Naum Isakovych Pruslin (b. February 21, 1877, Kropyvnytskyi - d. August 23, 1943, Tashkent) was a Ukrainian composer and conductor. Honored Artist of Ukraine (1940).

Biography.
He was born on February 21, 1877 in Kirovohrad. He died on August 23, 1943 in Tashkent. He graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory (1919, class of R. Glier).

He was the first composer to collaborate with the Young Theater of Les Kurbas. of Les Kurbas on a regular basis.

In December 1925, in Kharkiv, at the Ivan Franko State Drama Theater, the premiere of L. Ukrainka's play "The Stone Master" took place; it was directed by H. Yura and composed by N. Pruslin.

Author of operetta, sonatas, music for theater performances and the movie Stolen Happiness (1952).
