Pivnenko Bohdana Ivanivna

1977

Bohdana Ivanovna Pivenko (27 January 1977, Kharkiv) is a Ukrainian violinist, People's Artist of Ukraine, who is called the "Ukrainian Paganini in a skirt". Daughter of the artist Ivan Marchuk.

Soloist of the National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Camerata". Member of a duet with pianist Iryna Starodub.
Biography.
She was born in Kharkiv. Her father is a well-known artist Ivan Marchuk; her mother is an art critic Alla Pivnenko, who taught at the Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute.

In 1984, she started studying at the Kharkiv Music Decade, violin class. In 1993, she moved to the class of violinist Bohodar Kotorovych at the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialised Music School. She also studied with Ihor Pyliatyuk, who worked as Kotorovych's assistant for some time.

In 1995-2003, she studied at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy,

In 2001-2003, she studied at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy, in the class of Igor Pylyatyuk and Bogodar Kotorovych.

Since 2001, she has played in the Philharmonia of Nations International Youth Orchestra under the direction of Justus Frantz.

2003 - masterclasses with prominent violinists Viktor Tretyakov, Zakhar Bron, Pavlo Vernikov.

In 2000-2005, she was a concertmaster of the National Chamber Ensemble "Kyiv Soloists".

From 2008 to 2010, she took masterclasses with Olga Parkhomenko.

Since 2000, she has been working with the National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Camerata".

As a producer and performer, she took part in the creation of the 12-disc Anthology of Contemporary Ukrainian Music. The discs are based on the works of Ivan Marchuk.

Since 2000, she has been a lecturer at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy,

In 2014, she organised a project to support musically gifted children "We are your children, Ukraine!" and is an active participant in the Responsible Future project.

Family.
In 2006, she married businessman and politician Volodymyr Shulga, founder of the Foxtrot supermarket chain, whom she met during the Orange Revolution in 2004. On 7 December 2006, their son Bohdan Shulga was born. In 2008, Volodymyr Shulga died of a heart attack.

Subsequently, Bohdana Pivnenko married for the second time - to film director Oleh Pavliuchenkov.
