Biography
He was born in the family of an amateur musician Mykhailo Vasiliovych Pilatiuk and his wife Stefania Petrivna (from the house of Matsenko).
In 1961-1969, he studied at Buchach Secondary School (now Buchach Gymnasium named after V. M. Hnatyuk); also graduated from the Buchach Music School (violin class - Lyudmila Lysko). In 1969, he entered the Ternopil Music School, which he successfully graduated from in 1973 (violin class of Honored Artist of Ukraine O. Tataryntsev). In the same year, he became a student of the stationary department of the Lviv Conservatory named after Lysenko (violin class — Honored Artist of Ukraine, Professor Bohdan Kaskiv). After graduating from the conservatory in 1978, he worked as a teacher at the Ivano-Frankivsk Music School named after Denis Sichinsky.
He initiated the creation of the Ivano-Frankivsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (1982) and was its artistic director and chief conductor for more than 15 years. Under the direction of Ihor Pilatyuk, the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber Orchestra won the 1st International Chamber Music Competition (1991, Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine), toured Ukraine, the cities of the former USSR, and abroad. Well-known musicians took part in joint artistic projects with I. Pilatyuk: violinists: Oleksiy Gorokhov, Bogodar Kotorovich, Oleg Krysa, Serhiy Kravchenko, Kyrylo Stetsenko, Jr., Lydia Shutko, Oleksandr Brusilovskyi (France), Viktor Tretyakov (Germany), violist Yuriy Bashmet, cellist Nataliya Khoma, pianists — People's Artists of Ukraine Oleg Kryshtalskyi, Yozhef Ermin, Oksana Rapita, Etella Chupryk, as well as Volodymyr Vynnytskyi, Serhii Eidelman, Yaroslav Dzewiecki (Poland), Choir Chapel named after M. Hlinka (St. Petersburg) under led by V. Chernushenko. The orchestra under the direction of I. Pilatyuk recorded more than 50 works for the National Funds. radio company of Ukraine, and the project "Seven words of the Savior on the Cross" to the music of J. Haydn gained wide resonance (a stock recording was made on All-Ukrainian TV) and is still considered a hallmark of the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber Orchestra. I. Pilatiuk participated in the Days of Ukrainian Culture in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Russia, where he popularized Ukrainian classical and modern music. For the first time in Ukraine, the Orchestra conducted by I. Pilatyuk performed chamber pieces by Vasyl Vytvytskyi, Myroslav Skoryk, Oleksandr Kozarenko, Iryna Kirilina, Yevhen Stankovych, Viktor Kaminskyi, Bohdana Frolyak, Yuriy Lanyuk, Igor Shcherbakov, etc., as well as translated for chamber orchestra beautiful compositions by Mykola Lysenko and Yakiv Stepovoy; concerts of Y. S. Bach were performed; Mykola Lysenko's cantata "Bityu Porogy" was performed by the choir and orchestra of the MV Lysenko LNMA Opera Studio.
Among the iconic performances/projects of I. Pilatyuk are concert programs dedicated to the 1st anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine at the National Palace of Arts "Ukraine" with the participation of the Ivano-Frankivsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (1991, Kyiv, Ukraine), and then updated concert programs for Days Independence of Ukraine (during 1991-2000); concerts at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, etc. Concert programs where cantatas by Ukrainian composers M. Lysenko, D. Sichynskyi, and M. Skoryk based on the poetry of T. Shevchenko were successful. During 1992-1997, violinist Ihor Pilatiuk together with his wife - pianist Olena Pilatiuk, daughter - Anastasia and son Nazariy - violinists (family quartet) toured and held master classes in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Poland: more than 140 concerts were held. On the day of the enthronement of the Head of the UGCC, Blessed Svyatoslav (Shevchuk), on the stage of the National House of Organ and Chamber Music of Ukraine (2011, Kyiv, Ukraine), the project "Seven Words of the Savior on the Cross" (Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber Orchestra) was performed under the baton of Ihor Pilatyuk. The team of the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber Orchestra under the direction of I. Pilatyuk (soloist - violinist Nazarii Pilatyuk) held a series of concert performances in the cities of Ukraine, and the collection of funds from the implementation of the artistic project was donated to the construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ UGCC in Kyiv.

In 1993-1995 — Art. off Higher Institute of Music named after M. V. Lysenko; I. Pilatiuk also worked as the head of the violin department of a secondary specialized music boarding school.
From December 1999, I. Pilatiuk began his activities as the rector of the M. Lysenko Higher Music Institute. On the initiative of the rector I. Pilatiuk, the VMI was reformed into the Lviv Music Academy named after M. V. Lysenko (2002), and from 2007 — to the Lviv National Academy of Music named after M.V. Lysenko, where the Specialized Academic Council for the Defense of Candidate's Dissertations was opened; the scientific qualifications of the teaching staff increased; a number of textbooks, scientific and pedagogical manuals, monographs and collections of scientific articles have been published; the training of regents began, for the first time in Ukraine.

Since 1999, I. Pylatyuk has been the chief conductor of the Lviv Chamber Orchestra "Akademiya", which has toured in Ukraine, Germany, Sweden, and since 2008, he annually participates in the International Festival "Beskydy without Borders" (Poland).
As a conductor, Ihor Pilatiuk collaborates/performs in Ukraine and abroad with various creative collectives, in particular the Honored Chapel of Ukraine "Trembita", the Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Opera Studio of the M. V. Lysenko Lviv National Academy of Music, the Lviv Chamber Orchestras Academy", "Harmonia Nobile", Lviv Chamber Orchestra "Perpetuum Mobile" and others.
In his position as the rector of the M. V. Lysenko National Academy of Sciences, I. Pilatiuk started several competitions: vocal competitions named after T. Teren-Yuskiva, fp. named after F. For more than 15 years, I. Pilatiuk was a member of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Culture Fund and the Board of Trustees of the "New Names of Ukraine" program.
I. Pilatiuk is a member of the jury of many prestigious national and international competitions (Ukraine, Italy, Hungary, Poland). With his support and direct participation, international competitions and festivals are held: named after M. Lysenko (Kyiv), named after D. Bida (Lviv), named after Bogodar Kotorovich (Kyiv), etc.
I. Pylatyuk is the moderator and performer (as a conductor) of many art projects, among them the most unique ones are "Ihor Pylatyuk and his students" (author and conductor - I. Pylatyuk, soloists - St.students of the class of I. Pilatyuk), where 5 violin concertos by Myroslav Skoryk were performed, the concert premieres of which took place on the stages of Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil. Initiated by Professor I. Pilatyuk, the First Myroslav Skoryk International Violin Competition took place during the Maestro's lifetime and with his direct participation. Professor Ihor Pilatiuk is the chief conductor of the Beskydy Without Borders International Festival (Poland, Sanok, since 2008 - annually).
Ihor Pilatyuk's scientific interests are related to his teaching work at the violin department of the MV Lysenko Lviv National Academy of Music and current problems of the history and theory of musical performance and pedagogy.
