Reviews

V. F. Konoshchenko - Honored Culture Worker and Teacher:

Svitlana Vasylivna Ostrova is a bright star in the musical culture of independent Ukraine, a talented choirmaster and teacher.

G.V. Stepanchenko - Honored Artist of Ukraine, Candidate of Art History, Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv Organization of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine:

S.V. In his work, Ostrova is a worthy representative of the modern compositional and organ schools of Ukraine. Her work is diverse in genres. Vocal and choral, orchestral, organ, piano works, arrangements of folk songs by Svitlana Ostrovoi organically entered the modern world of music.

"The music of Svetlana Ostrova is emotional, deeply spiritual, it has a significant psychological impact and indicates the presence of serious creative potential of the composer. The author has a perfect command of order, harmony and polyphony" (Doctor of Art History, Professor V.N. Zolochevskyi)

"Svetlana receives creative revelations and has a strong genetic memory, which enables her to "dig" the deep layers of our ancient musical culture" (Y.N. Lapinskyi, associate professor at P.I. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Sciences, composer).

"Svitlana Ostrova is a leading specialist, a multifaceted musician: an inspired performer, an experienced teacher, a bright composer, who felt her creative talent very early. The composer relies on the deep origins of Ukrainian folk and professional music, subtly feels its melos. The musical palette of S. Ostrovaya is enriched with modality, folk-colorful colors, archaism, classical-romantic basis, polytonal harmonies, polyphonic structures." (P.O. Andriychuk - conductor, professor, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine).

"Svitlana Ostrova, unfortunately, is one of the few Ukrainian composers who understood and appreciated the organ - this unique instrument" (G. V. Bulybenko - Honored Worker of the Arts of Ukraine, organist, professor of Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music).

"S. Ostrova's creativity is a significant contribution to modern musical art. Her works have a deeply national basis, combined with elements of modern composer thinking, with features of archaism, neoclassicism. The artist also relies on the traditions of European music, presented through the prism of a modern sense of the world. I would like to note the special light emitted by almost all of her works." (G.I Lyashenko — composer, professor, People's Artist of Ukraine).

"Svitlana is a wonderful organist and composer, who is truly devoted to the arts" (O.I. Malozyomova - musicologist, professor at P.I. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Sciences)

"A bright feature of the creative portrait of S. Ostrovoi is her talent in various branches of musical art: she is a talented organist who conducts active concert activities, as well as a choirmaster, teacher, composer with a wide genre spectrum, where the spiritual dominant is very clearly manifested in her work. The creative activity of S. Ostrovoi is of great interest to researchers of Ukrainian music - both individual works that deserve detailed consideration, and the creative personality of the artist as a whole phenomenon, because she is interesting for her content, spirituality of direction, intensity and multifacetedness (in addition to the above, let's also mention the composer's passion for artistic photography" (T.V. Husarchuk — doctor of art history, associate professor, professor of the Department of History of Ukrainian Music and Folklore of P.I. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Sciences)
