Zynovii Trifonovych Ostapenko (November 12, 1904, Olenivka - January 1, 1956, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian composer, Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (since 1949).
He was born on November 12, 1904, in the village of Olenivka, Yekaterinoslav province. He studied music independently, took conducting lessons from F. Bekasov. In 1923-1929 he was a choirmaster, in 1933-1941 he was the head of the musical department of the Mariupol Drama Theater. In 1942-1951, he was the chief conductor of the army military ensembles, and since 1951 - of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ukrainian SSR. He last worked as a conductor and choirmaster at the Ivan Franko Theater in Kyiv.
He died on January 1, 1956. He was buried in Kyiv at the Lukianivske Cemetery (plot 36, row 3, place 1). The grave has a standard mosaic monument. There is an urn at the top.
