Igor Aronovych Naimark (24 July 1955, Kharkiv - 26 January 2017, Rishon LeZion) was a Soviet and Israeli pianist, teacher, composer and arranger.
Biography.
He studied music since the age of five (cello, piano). In 1962-1973, he studied at the Kharkiv Secondary Specialised Music School in the class of N. Goldinger and Professor B. Sklovsky. In parallel, in Moscow, he took lessons with D. Bashkirov in the 70s.
In 1973-1975, he studied at the Moscow Conservatoire in the class of Y. Zak, in 1975 he returned to Ukraine due to problems with the Moscow KGB.
In 1979, he graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Arts, class of M. Eshchenko (he also studied with Y. Smirnov and R. Horowitz).
In 1979-1980, he played in the orchestra of the Military Engineering Radio Engineering Academy of Air Defence named after L.O. Govorov.
In 1980-1982 he was an assistant at the Department of Special Piano of the Kharkiv Institute of Arts, a soloist of the Kharkiv Philharmonic.
In 1982-1984 - soloist of the Belgorod Philharmonic.
1984-1986 - soloist of the Kirovohrad Philharmonic.
In 1987-1990 - soloist of the Belarusian State Philharmonic (Minsk).
Since 1991, he has lived in Israel (Sderot, then Rishon LeZion), teaching at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music. He gave concerts in Europe and America. He also performed as a jazz improviser.
