Mykytka Artur Volodymyrovych

1946

Artur Volodymyrovych Mykytka (born 24 February 1946, Stryi, Lviv region) - Ukrainian violinist, teacher, professor, People's Artist of Ukraine (2006).
Biography.
Graduated from the Lviv Music College (class of Oleksandr Yegorov).

1969 - graduated from the Lviv Conservatory (class of Bohdan Kaskiv, Dmytro Lekher).

Since 1965, he has been a member of the Academy Chamber Orchestra. Since 1992, he has been the director and concertmaster of this ensemble.

Since 2003 - Head of the Department of Chamber Ensemble and Quartet at the Lviv Music Academy. Since 2004, he has been a professor.

Also, from 1969-2002, he was a violin teacher at the Lviv Music and Pedagogical College, where he founded the violin ensemble and chamber orchestra.

His repertoire includes works by Ukrainian composers Viktor Kaminsky, Ivan Karabyts, Mykola Kolessa, Anatoliy Kos-Anatolsky, Olha Kryvolap, Yuriy Laniuk, Hennadiy Lyashenko, Myroslav Skoryk, Yevhen Stankovych, Bohdana Frolyak and others (mostly premieres), as well as music by world classics. In 2005, he initiated the 'Christmas Musical Gifts' concerts with the chamber orchestra, soloists and choirs, and in 2014, 'Chamber Evenings at the Academy', and held two all-Ukrainian competitions for chamber ensembles and quartets. Among A. Mykytka's students are laureates of national and international quartet competitions in Poland, Armenia, Lviv and Odesa, participants of the international festivals "Music in Old Krakow", "Music in Old Lviv", "European Meetings in Warsaw".

Touring: Participation in prestigious festivals such as Kyiv Music Fest, Virtuosos, Contrasts, monographic concerts of composer M. Skoryk. Skoryk (under his direction as artistic director and conductor of the Academy Orchestra) with world premieres of his works and transcriptions, composers M. Kolessa, G. Lyashenko, I. Shcherbakov, V. Kaminsky, I. Karabits, O. Kryvolap, P. Vasks, K. Penderecky. Since 2012, he has been performing at various festivals in Poland, Germany, Sweden, France, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and the International Piano Forum "Beskydy Bez Borders" in Sanok (Poland).

Family.
Wife Nadiia Rykova is a pianist, head of the special piano department at the Lviv State Music School named after S. Krushelnytska.

Father of Zhanna and Volodymyr Mykytok.
