Mykola Vitaliyovych Lysenko (* 8 April 1971, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian conductor, artistic director of the State Variety and Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, rector of the Holy Trinity Ionian Monastery in Kyiv, protodeacon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and great-great-grandson of composer Mykola Lysenko.
He was born in the family of a choral conductor, professor of the Kyiv Conservatory Vitalii Lysenko. His mother is Olha Vsevolodivna.
1989-1997 - student of the Kyiv Conservatory (studied in the class of Lev Venediktov and Volodymyr Kozhukhar).
1999-2005 - conductor of the State Academic Variety and Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.
2005-2018[2] - Artistic Director of the State Academic Variety and Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.
He has also collaborated with the Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipro, Lviv and Shauliai Philharmonic Orchestras, the National Opera Orchestra of Ukraine and the National Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.
He is one of the directors of the Mykola Lysenko International Charitable Foundation and one of the co-founders of the International Festival of Classical and Contemporary Ukrainian Music "Eternal Springs".
Permanent co-chairman of the jury of the Mykola Lysenko Children's Competition for Young Musicians (Ivano-Frankivsk, held regularly since 2003).
Host of religious programmes on Ukrainian Radio.
