Mykhailyuk Vasyl Pylypovych

1929-2003

Vasyl Mykhailiuk (January 13, 1929, Vashkivtsi, Vyzhnytsia district, Chernivtsi region - May 2, 2003, Vashkivtsi) was a Ukrainian composer, conductor, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine (1966).
He graduated from the Chernivtsi Music College (1966). Head of the brass band and choir of the Vashkivskyy BC (1952-1970).

The author of the music of the extremely popular song "Cheremshyna" written to the words of the poet Mykola Yuriychuk in 1965.

He died in Vashkivtsi on May 2, 2003. He was buried in the town cemetery in Vashkivtsi.
