Ivan Mostovyi (born 6 July 1926) is a prominent Ukrainian clarinetist, teacher, soloist of the symphony orchestra of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theatre, and a teacher at the V. Kosenko Zhytomyr Music School. He is an honorary citizen of Zhytomyr.
He was born on 6 July 1926 in Vinnytsia region. At the age of 18, he was drafted into the Red Army and took an active part in the events of the Second World War. In 1944, in the battles near Vienna, he was seriously wounded, resulting in the amputation of his leg. After that, he was treated for a long time in a military hospital in Budapest.
But despite his severe injury, in 1946 he successfully passed the entrance exams to the Chernivtsi Music College, which he graduated from in 1950. After graduation, he worked as an artistic director of the Novoyanychi House of Culture. In 1952, he entered the Mykola Lysenko Lviv Conservatory, class of clarinet. Throughout his studies at the Lviv Conservatory, Ivan Maksymovych was introduced to world music literature and the repertoire of the best musical achievements.
Later, he worked as a soloist in the symphony orchestra of the Lviv State Opera and Ballet Theatre, but for health reasons he was forced to leave Lviv and move to Zhytomyr in 1957. Here he worked as a teacher at the V. Kosenko Zhytomyr Music School for over 50 years. In addition to clarinet, he taught students to play woodwind instruments: flute, oboe, and bassoon. For many years, he taught the subject "Repair and Tuning of Wind Instruments".
Mostovyi was repeatedly invited to be a member of the jury of various competitions of brass bands in the region and Polissia region. He participated in the development of methodological manuals for teachers of music schools and music colleges.
In 2011, the Zhytomyr City Council purchased a one-room apartment for Ivan Mostovyi in the village of Singury.

Valentina Goncharenko is an oboist, graduated from the Rivne Institute of Culture.

Leonid Dzhurmiy is an Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, clarinetist and conductor. He graduated from the Odesa Conservatory with a degree in clarinet and conducting. He worked at the Lysenko Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre.
