Taras Mykytka - conductor, professor of the Prokofiev Donetsk State Conservatory, People's Artist of Ukraine (1990).
He was born on 20 March 1939 in Stryi, Lviv region.
Graduated from the Lviv Conservatory in 1963 (class of M. Kolessa).
Since 1971, he has been a conductor, from 1975 to 1995 - Chief Conductor of the Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Since 1987 he has been a lecturer, since 1995 - Professor of the Donetsk Music and Pedagogical Institute (since 1991 - Donetsk Conservatory).
Since 2014, he has been a professor at the Lviv Music Academy.
