Matviychuk Anatoliy Mykolayovych

1958

Anatoliy Mykolayovych Matviychuk (29 September 1958, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian singer, poet, composer, journalist, TV presenter, music analyst, teacher, and scholar. People's Artist of Ukraine, winner of literary awards.

He composes and performs songs mainly in Ukrainian, partly in Russian.
Biography.
In 1980-86, he studied at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Faculty of Journalism.

Afterwards, A. Matviychuk worked in a number of publications (Youth of Ukraine, Music magazine) and in television journalism (for many years he hosted and wrote scripts for UT-1's programmes Musical Video Moment, Musical TV Fair, Fantasy Lotto Nadezhda), and was a presenter on M2. He often hosted concerts and music festivals. He hosted and wrote scripts for the Slavic Bazaar, Constellation-Artek, and Galician Shtahger festivals.

Since 1988, Anatoliy Matviychuk has been a member of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

He wrote scripts for concerts and TV programmes, poems and poetic texts for many performers popular throughout the post-Soviet space, including Sofia Rotaru, Valery Leontyev, Larisa Dolina and many others.

Since 1988, Anatoliy Matviychuk has been working as a composer and singer. He created songs for Nazariy Yaremchuk, Oksana Bilozir, Taisiya Povaliy, Iryna Bilyk, Vitaliy and Svitlana Bilonozhko, Alla Kudlay and many others. In total, he has written over 500 songs that have been performed on the professional stage. Among them, there are many that have been recognised as the best songs of the year.

Anatoliy Matviychuk is the creator of 9 solo CDs ("Two Birds", "Halfway House of Love", "King of the Shapito", "Enchanted Beauty", "Keys to Paradise", "Thirst", "My Star", "Confession", "The Road to Myself") and 7 poetry books ("Poems", 1996; "Noah's Ark, 1998; Forerunner, 2003; Confession, 2007; Grains, 2012; On Guard, 2015; Laughter, 2017), author of poetry and journalistic publications in newspapers and magazines and online publications.

The performer has held six major solo benefit concerts under the name "Polustanok Lyubov" in the National Park "Ukraine" (1996, 2000, 2004, 2007, 2014, 2018). The singer has toured many cities and villages in Ukraine, as well as in the USA, Canada, Russia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Israel, Spain, etc. He has composed several anthems, such as the Journalists' Anthem, Yuzhmash, Dynamo FC Fans' Anthem, and the UMAKO Constellation anthem.

Anatolii Matviichuk has participated in a number of music and song competitions as a jury member (Slovianskyi Bazar, Veselad, Krok do Zirk, etc.) and is a member of the Board of the Ukrainian Youth Aerospace Association (UMAKO) Suzirya.

Anatoliy Mykolayovych is also engaged in research and teaching activities - in 2005 he completed his postgraduate studies and defended his PhD thesis on the topic "Historical Evolution of the Poetics of Ukrainian Song". He has taught a number of special courses and disciplines related to journalism and show business at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
In 1996, Anatoliy Matviychuk was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine, and in 2000 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine.

He is a multiple winner of the music award Schlager of the Year.

Since 2015, he has been a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine.

In 2020, the Samit-Knyha publishing house published a book of Anatolii Matviichuk's selected poetry "Treasures".
