Marenych Svitlana Oleksandrivna

Svitlana Oleksandrivna Marenych (née Sukhorukova; born 1 March 1956, Kuibyshev, now Russia) is a famous Ukrainian singer, member of the folk trio Marenych (1972-2004, Lutsk). Honoured Artist of Ukraine (1979) and People's Artist of Ukraine (2003).
Biography
Svitlana Marenych-Sukhorukova was born on 1 March 1956[2] in Kuibyshev (now Samara). In 1991, she graduated from the Lutsk Cultural and Educational College.

She has toured extensively in Ukraine, the Soviet Union and abroad (Poland, Canada, Great Britain, Slovakia). Together with the Marenych trio, she participated in the All-Ukrainian pop song festivals: "Song Vernissage", "Kyiv Spring", "Crimean Dawns".

Svitlana Marenych-Sukhorukova is the sister of singer Antonina Marenych.

Awards and honours
1979 - Honoured Artist of Ukraine;
2003 - People's Artist of Ukraine.
2021 - awarded a two-year state scholarship
