Manulyak Ostap Mykhailovych

1983

Composer, musicologist, arranger, performer.

He studied as a pianist and music theorist at the Lviv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School named after S. Krushelnytska. Since 2000, he has studied at the Department of Composition of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Music Academy (composition - class of Prof. V. Kaminsky, instrumentation - class of Prof. M. Skoryk). In 2005, he graduated from the Lysenko Lviv State Music Academy and received a master's degree with a thesis on contemporary Ukrainian sacred music. Since 2006, as part of the Gaude Polonia program, he has been an intern at the Krakow Academy of Music in the composition class of Prof. Zbigniew Bujarski. His works have been performed at the International Contemporary Music Festival "Contrasts", the All-Ukrainian Youth Festival "Music of the Millennium", the International Festival "Dni muzyki kompozytorow krakowskich", and other concerts and musical events.

In addition to academic music, he also works in the field of electronic meditative music and funk-jazz-rock.

Concerto for piano and symphony orchestra;
"Psalms of David for two mixed choirs, soloists and symphony orchestra;
"Psalmus XXIX (XXVIII) for choir and orchestra;
Choral Concerto "O Woe to me, a sinner...";
Sonata for piano and live electronics;
"Chant through Space" for singing and reciting voices, violin, cello and piano;
"Night Odyssey" for flute, cello and piano;
"Variations of Contrasts for string quartet and synthesizer.
