Outstanding Ukrainian singer (baritone). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1989). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2002). Son of the composer Heorhiy Maiboroda.
Biography.
Born on August 28, 1943 (Kyriakivka village, Hlobyn district, Poltava region).
Graduated from the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory in 1971 (class of T. Mykhailova).
Since 1971 - soloist, Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theater (now the National Opera of Ukraine).
Since 1988 he has been a lecturer at the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory (now the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine). Among his students is Honored Artist of Ukraine Serhiy Avdeev.

In 1989, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.

Laureate of the All-Union Glinka Vocal Competition in Vilnius (1971, II prize), the International Competition in Toulouse (1974, III prize), Grand Prix and gold medal at the International Competition of Young Opera Singers (Sofia, 1976). He successfully sang in Verdi's operas in Riga, Tallinn and Warsaw, and was invited to the Royal Opera House of Madrid in the 2000-2001 seasons.
He retired from the stage in 2012. He passed away on September 4, 2018. He was buried in the central alley of the Baikove cemetery (plot No. 42a).
