Lyashenko Gennady Ivanovich

1938-2017

Ukrainian composer, teacher, musicologist, musicologist, musician and public figure.

Biography.

Graduated from the Lviv Conservatory, class of composition A. Soltys (1963), graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory (1971).

Senior lecturer at the Lviv (1966-1968) and Kyiv (since 1971) Conservatories, Associate Professor (1978), Professor (1988) of the Department of Composition and Instrumentation at the Kyiv Conservatory.

Candidate of Arts (1972).

He died on July 21, 2017 in Kyiv.

Daughter, Maryna Denysenko, is a Ukrainian composer, poet, musicologist.
Awards.

Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1987), People's Artist of Ukraine (1996). Laureate of the Mykola Lysenko Prize (1999), Borys Liatoshynsky Prize (2004). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
