Lubyanyi Volodymyr Yakovych

1926-1991

Russian and Ukrainian Soviet singer (bass), People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1972).
Biography.

He studied at the Alma-Ata Conservatory, and in 1953 graduated from the Minsk Conservatory, class of O. Kurganov and E. Viting.

In 1953-1960, he worked in Minsk as a soloist at the Belarusian Opera and Ballet Theater, and in 1960-1963 - at the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater.

In 1963-1988, he worked at the Ivan Franko Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater.

He died in Lviv and was buried on the 80th field of the Lychakiv Cemetery.

He performed the following parts:

Valko, "The Young Guard" by Maitus,
Kochubey, Mazepa by Tchaikovsky,
Borys Godunov in Mussorgsky's opera of the same name,
Zakhar Berkut - The Golden Hoop by Lyatoshynsky,
Philippe - Don Carlos by Verdi,
Sobakin - The Tsar's Bride.
