Lozynskyi Ivan Oleksandrovych

1770-1850

Ivan Lozynskyi (c. 1770, Rozhytsi (Rozhyshche) village in Volyn - c. 1850, Kharkiv) was a Ukrainian teacher and composer. He studied until 1791 in Warsaw, 1799-1801 - a music teacher at the Uman School, 1811-15 - at the Kursk Gymnasium, 1821-37 - a teacher at Kharkiv University. Author of the first in Ukraine "School of Violin Playing".

Works:

Concerto and "Solemn Chorus for the Victory of the Enemy in Europe" (1815);
for orchestra: Symphony, overtures, Clarinet Concerto (1831);
Quartet; Variations for flute, etc.
