Loboda Andriy Yevhenovich

1978-2015

is an ocalist and frontman of the music band Horta. Until 2004, he was a member of the band Speedway. He was a philanthropist, public and political figure, chairman of the Zaporizhzhia City Youth Public Organization "Union of Youth of the Regions of Ukraine".

Creativity

In 1995, the band "Speedway" was formed. The "native factory spaces" of industrial Zaporizhzhia inspired them to sing in their native language in the genre of dance and alternative music. The band became the city's calling card. They gave concerts all over Ukraine: Dnipro, Odesa, Lutsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Kharkiv. Speedway has released many songs and two music videos, about ten collaborations with other Ukrainian hip-hop bands.

In 2004, Speedway reformatted.
Horta

Andrii Loboda, along with two other Speedway members and three other musicians, formed the band Horta, after one of the ancient names of the island of Khortytsia, which lies between the Dnipro banks of Zaporizhzhia. Horta worked in the art-folk-hop genre. Their songs and videos often contain ethnic and mythological elements of the Cossacks.
Illness

In the summer of 2014, Andriy Loboda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Because of the disease, the announced tour of Ukraine, which was to present the second album of the band "Horta", was canceled. The family raised funds for long-term treatment, and he underwent eight chemotherapies in Kyiv.

On January 27, 2015, Andriy died in his native Zaporizhzhia. He was buried the next day.
