Lipsky Mykola Konstantinovich

1935-2010

Mykola Lypskyi (August 23, 1935, Verkhnia Khortytsia - September 10, 2010, Zaporizhzhia) was a Ukrainian orchestra director and composer, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
In 1951, after finishing 7th grade, he started working as a toolmaker at the Zaporizhzhabel plant. In 1954, he was drafted into the Soviet army, a group of troops in Germany; there he created a small brass band.

In 1960, he entered the Zaporizhzhia Music School, majoring in trombone, and at the same time led the brass band at the Zaporizhzhia Transformer Plant, the band became a prize-winner and winner of many music competitions in the city and region, and in 1971 the orchestra was awarded the honorary title of "Amateur Folk Brass Band".

At one time, Vira Leshchenko performed with the band.

In 1972, it won a gold medal at the All-Ukrainian Festival of Brass Bands in Kyiv.

In 1975, the band took part in the concert of the XIV Congress of Trade Unions of Ukraine, where it received a diploma and a letter of gratitude from the Presidium of the Union of Trade Unions of Ukraine.

In 1983, the band performed a concert program in the Finnish city of Lahti.

In 1985, the band under his direction became a laureate of the TV program "Sunny Clarinets".

In 1986 and 1988, performances took place in Moscow and Wroclaw, respectively, and in 1988 the orchestra took part in the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Yalta.

During 1997-1999, the orchestra became a laureate of the All-Ukrainian Festival of Amateur Artistic Groups.

In 2000-2003, he led the orchestra to the reporting concerts of Zaporizhzhia region in Kyiv.

The Folk Orchestra of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Television and Radio Broadcasting Company constantly performed the works of Viktor Yosypovych Kalinnikov.

He composed for the orchestra:

"Jubilee March",
waltzes - "Autumn Flowers",
"Snowflake",
polka "Boots",
concert piece for flute and orchestra "Revelation",
the concert piece "Hot Afternoon" and a number of other musical works.
