Levitsky Boris Konstantinovich

1893-1965

Borys Levytskyi (6 October 1893, Vilno - 1 January 1965, Prague) was a Ukrainian composer, singer (tenor), and pianist.
General information
He studied at the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute. He completed his technical education in Prague.

He also had a musical education, which he received at the Ukrainian Higher Pedagogical Institute (Prague) in 1928 (composition class of F. Yakymenko and O. Shin).

He also studied with composer Nestor Nyzhankivskyi and conductor Platonida Shchurovska-Rosinevych.

He worked as an engineer in Prague. He performed in Ukrainian concerts as a solo singer and pianist-concertmaster, and sang in a choir. He was friends with the poet Oleksandr Oles.

He died on 1 January 1965 in Prague. His grave, like the grave of his wife Nina, remains unattended at the Olshany cemetery.
