Leonid Levankovskyi (1 January 1883, Katerynoslav, now Dnipro - 25 January 1971, Ternopil) was a Ukrainian theater conductor and composer.
Biography.
Graduated from the Conservatory in Saratov (now the Russian Federation).
1909-1911 - conductor and theater composer in the Ukrainian traveling troupes of Dmytro Haidamaka, Pavlo Prokhorovych, and Oleksiy Sukhodolsky. 1927-1928 - Head of the musical department of the First State Theater for Children and Youth in Kharkiv.
Conductor of musical comedy theaters in Kharkiv (1929-1932) and Donetsk (1933-1935), and a traveling operetta in Pyatigorsk (1936-1937, now the Russian Federation).
He worked as the head of the musical department of the Ternopil Music and Drama Theater (now an academic theater), where he staged 17 performances with his music, among others:
"On Sunday morning I dug herbs" by Olha Kobylianska,
"Marusya Churai by Mykhailo Starytskyi,
"The Fireplace Master" by Lesia Ukrainka,
"Votan's Sword" by Ivan Kavaleridze, and others.
