Ledeniov Dmytro Volodymyrovych

1921-2004

Soviet military conductor (lieutenant colonel).

Biography.

Born on October 25, 1921 in Rostov-on-Don (now Russia). He joined the Red Army in 1941. In 1947 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory.

After receiving his musical education, he worked in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Carpathian Military District in Lviv. In 1968-1973, he was the artistic director of the Lviv Association of Music Ensembles. On February 6, 1973, he was discharged from the army. In 1974-1979, he headed the Lviv Association of Musical Ensembles. From 1979 to 1985, he directed an amateur ensemble and headed the House of Culture in Bila Tserkva. In 1985-1993, he was again the artistic director of the Lviv Association of Musical Ensembles. He died in Lviv on October 1, 2004.
Awards.

He was awarded the medals "For Victory over Germany", "For Military Merit" (November 19, 1951), and the Order of the Red Star (December 30, 1956);
Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR since 1968.
