Kurkov Georgy Vladimirovich

Georhii Volodymyrovych Kurkoff (* 16 June 1954, Khmelnytskyi) is a Ukrainian pianist, organist and conductor. Honoured Artist of Ukraine (1995).
He was born on 16 June 1954 in Khmelnytskyi, where he graduated from the Zaremba Music School with honours in piano.

In 1978 he graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kyiv, and in 1984 he completed postgraduate studies at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Leningrad under professors T. Kravchenko (piano), N. Oksentian (organ), and S. Hentova (history and theory of piano). He participated in organ seminars conducted by Leo Kremer and Johan Trummer.

Since 1978, he has been working in Vinnytsia. Associate Professor of the Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University.

Since 1993, he has been the founder, director, and conductor of the Arkata Academic Chamber Orchestra, as well as the organist of the Church of Our Lady of the Angels of the Friars Minor Capuchin Monastery.

As a conductor, pianist and organist, he has toured many cities in the CIS and Europe, collaborated with many leading soloists and conductors.
