Kulyaba Grigory Vasilyevich

1928-2019

Hryhorii Kulyaba (born 23 December 1928, Poltava) is a Soviet and Ukrainian conductor, Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR in 1972.

Graduated from the Tchaikovsky Kyiv Conservatory in 1955, class of H. Veriovka.

In 1960-1967, 1977-1983 - conductor of the State Honoured Academic Choir "Dumka".

In 1967-1974, he was the artistic director and chief conductor of the choir of the State Television and Radio of the Ukrainian SSR.

Artistic director and chief conductor of the State Honoured Bandura Choir of the Ukrainian SSR in 1974-1977.

Since 1983, he has worked at Ukrconcert, and since 1993, he has been the artistic director of the National Radio Company of Ukraine.

From 1977 to 1982, he headed the Honoured Folk Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine "Darnychanka".
