Kulbaba Alla Anatoliivna

Alla Anatoliivna Kulbaba (born 3 April 1968, Kryvyi Rih) is a Ukrainian conductor and teacher, People's Artist of Ukraine (2019).
Graduated from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (1992, choral conducting, class of People's Artist of Ukraine, prof. Ukraine, prof. V. Lysenko; 1995, opera and symphony conducting, class of People's Artist of Ukraine, prof. Ukraine, professor V. Hnedash).

In 1994, she became a laureate of the First S. Turchak National Conducting Competition (Kyiv, III prize).

Since 1995, she has been an assistant to the chief conductor, and since 1999, she has been conducting the Taras Shevchenko National Opera of Ukraine. Conductor-director of the performance "Mozart and Salieri" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov (2017). She premiered the operas "The Secret Marriage" by D. Chimarosa (2000) and "Faust" by Gounod (2017). The repertoire includes more than 30 performances, including operas Yaroslav the Wise by G. Maiboroda, Cossack Beyond the Danube by S. Hulak-Artemovsky, Tosca, Manon Lescaut, Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini, The Troubadour, Aida, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Macbeth, Nabucco by G. Verdi, Romeo and Juliet by G. González, and La Traviata by G. González. Verdi, Romeo and Juliet, Faust by Gounod, Cinderella, Barber of Seville by Rossini, Norma by Bellini, Love Drink by Donizetti, Eugene and Juliet by Donizetti, and The Love Drink by Gioia. Donizetti, Eugene Onegin, Iolanta, The Queen of Spades by P. Tchaikovsky; ballets The Nutcracker by P. Tchaikovsky, Romeo and Juliet by S. Prokofiev, etc. Conductor-director of numerous concert programmes of the National Opera of Ukraine.

Since 1998, she has collaborated with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and Choir under the baton of R. McMurrin, with whom she toured the USA (2000, 2002, 2003, 2004) and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan (2008) as guest principal conductor.
At the Opera Studio of the NMAU she staged the opera "Loneliness? by A. Komlikova (2009).

At the same time, in 2015-2017 and since September 2022, he has been the conductor of the Kyiv Opera (KMATOB for Children and Youth).

He has collaborated with many symphony orchestras, philharmonic and theatre groups in the country, including: State Variety and Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Dnipro Philharmonic, Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Vostok Opera (Kharkiv) and Dnipro Opera.
She has toured with the National Opera of Ukraine and as a guest conductor in Japan, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Since 1995, she has been teaching. Until 1998, she worked at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, and since 2001 - at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine at the Department of Opera Training and Music Directing. Among her graduates are the world-famous singers Andrii Bondarenko, Oleksii Palchykov, Iryna Zhytynska, Myroslava Havryliuk, Maksym Kutsenko, Yurii Samoilov, and others. Since 2021, he has been teaching at the Department of Opera and Symphony Conducting at the NMAU.

She is a jury member of many national and international vocal competitions.

At the Kyiv Opera, she became the conductor of the opera Bastien and Bastienne by W.A. Mozart (2016), conducted operas La Traviata by G. Verdi, Le Nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart, ballets The Nutcracker by P. Tchaikovsky, Romeo and Juliet, Peter and the Wolf to music by S. Prokofiev, and Carnival of the Animals to music by C. Saint-Saëns.
