Kukhta Viktor Ivanovych

1932-2000

Viktor Ivanovych Kukhta (*6 January 1932, Poltava region - †2000) was a Ukrainian bandura virtuoso, composer, and teacher. He was a student of A. Bobyr.

Biography.
He worked as a soloist at the Kyiv Philharmonic. For many years he worked as a soloist at the State Radio. The first bandura player-instrumentalist for whom the composer Taranov H. P. wrote the "Concert" for bandura and balalaika with a symphony orchestra (1954).

He taught at the R. Glier Kyiv Music School. He is the author of a number of compositions and collections for bandura.
