Kryl Myroslav Mykhailovych

Myroslav Mykhailovych Kryl (born 24 May 1974, Chystopady, Ukrainian SSR) is a Ukrainian conductor, musician, teacher, associate professor. Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2009). People's Artist of Ukraine (2021).
Myroslav Kryl was born on 24 May 1974 in the village of Chystopady, now the Zalozetska community of the Ternopil district, Ternopil region, Ukraine.

He graduated from the Solomiya Krushelnytska Ternopil Music College (1993, with honours) and the Lviv Higher Music Institute (1998, class of People's Artist of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National Prize winner, Professor Yurii Luciv).

He worked as an assistant trainee at the National Honoured Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and the National Opera of Ukraine under the direction of Ivan Hamkal, a lecturer in conducting at the Kyiv University of Culture and Arts (1999-2002), chief conductor of the chamber choir (2002-2003), artistic director (2004-2008); Chief Conductor (since 2003) of the Ternopil Regional Philharmonic, Associate Professor of the Institute of Arts of Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University (2008-2018); since 2008 - Lecturer at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Ternopil Art College, currently Associate Professor of the Department of Musicology and Methods of Musical Art at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.

He was the founder of the first professional symphony orchestra in Ternopil (2003).

He orchestrated and performed more than 130 Ukrainian folk songs, carols and works by national composers. He performed large-scale vocal and symphonic works: cantatas "Shawl" by L. Revutsky, "I Pray for You, Ukraine" by A. Kushnirenko, "The Thresholds Are Breaking" by M. Lysenko, "Rejoice, Unwatched Field" by M. Lysenko. "Testament" by S. Liudkevych and others. He prepared musical numbers from the repertoire of Solomiya Krushelnytska for the play by Bohdan Melnychuk and Ivan Lyakhovsky.

He conducted the premieres of Myroslav Skoryk's Violin Concerto No. 7, Oleksandr Saratsky's Piano Concerto No. 2, and Bohdana Filts's Piano Concerto.

At the Ternopil Academic Drama Theatre, he staged musical numbers of the plays "Truffaldino of Bergamo" by C. Goldoni (2007), "For Two Hares" by M. Staritsky (2008), "The Bat" by J. Strauss, Ukrainian operas by J. Strauss, Ukrainian operas Zaporozhets Beyond the Danube by S. Hulak-Artemovsky, Natalka Poltavka by M. Lysenko, musical comedy Matchmaking in Honcharivka by H. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko, Sharika by Y. Barych, and Hutsulka Ksenia by Y. Barych. He conducted operas at the Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after S. Krushelnytska: "Rossini's Barber of Seville and Bizet's Les Misérables.

Chief conductor of the international literary and artistic festival "In a free, new family" (Ternopil, 2006). He conducted orchestras: National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Camerata", symphony orchestras of Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Crimean Philharmonic of Ukraine; Subcarpathian, Podlaski, Sudetsky, Pomeranian Philharmonic of Poland and others.

Awards
People's Artist of Ukraine (23 August 2021) - for significant personal contribution to state-building, strengthening defence capabilities, socio-economic, scientific, technical, cultural and educational development of the Ukrainian state, significant labour achievements, many years of conscientious work and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence;
Honoured Worker of Arts of Ukraine (11 December 2009) - for a significant personal contribution to the development of the cultural and artistic heritage of Ukraine, high professional skills and active participation in the Festival of Arts of Ukraine;
All-Ukrainian Literary and Art Prize named after the Bohdan and Levko Lepkyh Brothers (2018);
Ternopil Regional Solomiya Krushelnytska Prize (2012);
Diploma winner of the 2nd Stefan Turchak National Conducting Competition (Kyiv, 1998);
winner of the "Person of the Year 2012" contest (Ternopil region);
Medal "For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine" (2022);
the award of the Head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration "Pride of Ternopil" (2019).
