Kravchuk Zinoviy Yevhenovych

1942-2002

Zinoviy Yevhenovych Kravchuk (1942, Shyly - October 10, 2002, Zalishchyky) was a conductor, composer, poet, and Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.

He was born in 1942 in the village of Shyly, Zbarazh district.

In 1972, he was appointed director of the Dnister Song and Dance Ensemble. Since 1986, Zinoviy Kravchuk has been the director of the men's choir Gomin.

Along with his concert activities, Z. Kravchuk writes poetry, music, and arrangements of folk songs, carols, and church music. The author's oeuvre includes dozens of songs composed by him, which are performed by the Gomin Chapel and the Dnister Song and Dance Ensemble.

Some of Z. Kravchuk's songs were published in a collection of composers from Ternopil region.

Zinoviy Kravchuk died on October 10, 2002 in the town of Zalishchyky, where he was buried.
