The work of Bohdan Kotyuk

Bohdan Kotyuk's work is a polystylistic phenomenon in modern Ukrainian music, which best fits the definition of fusion. His individual compositional method is characterized by a fusion of different times, different genres and a wide range of musical expressions: from deeply philosophical and sacred to full of energy and dynamism of the technical revolution, the search for new forms in musical dramaturgy and sonoristics.

Both vocal and (especially) instrumental music of B. Kotyuk is characterized by perfectionism in mastering the texture of the musical fabric, which grows out of the structure and technical features of the musical instrument. The composer professes close cooperation with the performer of his works. This happens already at the stage of formation of the musical concept and the formal embodiment of the idea in musical notation.

Especially important for Bohdan Kotyuk as a creator is the relevance of musical expression in close interaction with the innovations of life and an adequate artistic understanding of modernity through the application of innovative findings in the musical atmosphere of today.
